Girls Just Want to Have Fun - Florida Retreat

Pajamas & Palm Trees

A grown-up slumber party on Florida's sugar-white sand.

Come Get Your Fun Back

No Agenda. No Guilt. Just Good Times.

What if for once, nobody needed you? Trade the winter gray for warm Gulf air, and trade your to-do list for four nights in your favorite pajamas with a house full of women who get it.

This isn't about fixing anything — it's about remembering what it feels like to laugh until your stomach hurts, stay up too late, and not check the clock once.

Mornings start easy, with the beach right outside your door. The rest of the day is yours: nap, swim, wander, or just talk — nothing here is mandatory except having a good time. Let Santa Rosa Beach be the backdrop while you reconnect with your people, and with the version of yourself who still knows how to play.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Retreat Overview

Girls Just Want to Have Fun — Florida Retreat is exactly what it sounds like: four nights in your favorite pajamas, laughter, beach mornings, and a house full of women who are done being the responsible one for a minute.

Lissette will lead one just-for-fun workout session (resistance bands included, zero experience required), and I'll lead one Midlife Discussions gathering where you and the group pick what's actually worth talking about — and that's the whole extent of the "programming." Everything else is games, good food, dancing, and time to just be.

This isn't about fixing anything about you. It's about remembering how good it feels to play. Four nights in pajamas, one unforgettable bonfire, and as many bad dance moves as it takes.

The closest airport to the retreat is Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) in Panama City Beach—about 27 miles away, which typically translates to 35–40 minutes by car.

Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) is similarly 36 miles away, but due to traffic and routing, the drive usually takes around 45–60 minutes .

Because the retreat home is tucked along a quieter stretch of 30A, Uber and Lyft can be limited. I’ll work with you and other guests to coordinate shared rental car arrangements whenever possible—making travel smoother, more social, and affordable. A shared spreadsheet for ride-sharing connections will be sent out in advance of the retreat.

Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26. Please plan your arrival accordingly, as the retreat team will only access the home shortly before that time.

The retreat concludes at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2. To fully enjoy the final morning without rush, I recommend booking mid- to late-afternoon flights.

"The location was perfect, offering the ideal opportunity for relaxation. The Risselena (dinner cruise) was a wonderful experience, and the interesting guests added so much to the retreat.

This was an excellent retreat, and I'm so glad I attended!"

Your Accommodations

You’ll be staying in the beautiful and spacious Marlin House, a luxurious oceanfront home located directly along the scenic 30A corridor in Santa Rosa Beach. With multiple balconies, expansive Gulf views, and elegant coastal design throughout, this home is the perfect backdrop for rest, reflection, and reconnection.

The home features a mix of private and shared rooms, each with its own private ensuite bathroom—a rare luxury that allows for comfort and privacy, no matter your room type. Whether you prefer your own space or are traveling with a friend or family member and would like to share, you’ll find your accommodations serene, stylish, and thoughtfully arranged.

From quiet mornings on the balcony to cozy evenings unwinding after the day’s activities, the Marlin House offers the best of coastal elegance and laid-back Florida charm—just steps from the sand and sea.

Two Things, That's It

Let's be honest: this retreat has exactly two things on the calendar that could even loosely be called "programming," and neither one feels like homework.

Lissette leads a Rubber Band Travel Workout, a fun, no-experience-needed session built around resistance bands (yours to keep, tucked right in your goodie bag), with a take-home routine you can actually use on your next trip.

I'll lead Midlife Discussions, one relaxed group conversation built entirely around topics you and the other women want to talk about. You'll get a chance to submit ideas ahead of time on your registration form, so this is shaped by the group, not handed down from the front of the room.

That's it. No workbooks, no breakout sessions, no processing circles. Two easy hours, and the rest of the day is yours again.

Time to Relax & Explore

Not everything here is a group activity, and that's on purpose. Some of your best moments might be a lazy afternoon on the deck, a solo walk on the beach, or just disappearing into a book while everyone else naps.

When you're ready to wander, 30A's string of cute coastal towns are just a short bike ride or drive away, think Rosemary Beach, Seaside, Grayton Beach, and Alys Beach, each one walkable, photogenic, and full of little boutiques, galleries, and good coffee. Hop on one of the beach cruisers or just grab your keys, no plan required.

And if you want a deeper kind of relaxing, on-site massages are available throughout the retreat for an extra fee. Otherwise, consider this your official permission slip to do absolutely nothing.

Group Activities

This retreat isn't just pajamas and lazy mornings. There's plenty of big, loud fun woven in too, the kind of group activities built for laughing, bonding, and stepping just outside your comfort zone in the best possible way.

Most mornings start easy with a guided meditation and a beach walk along the famous 30A coastline. No pace to keep, just salt air and good company before the day gets going. Beach cruisers are also on hand throughout your stay if you want to explore 30A on two wheels whenever the mood strikes.

Saturday evening, Chef Jess leads a Cocktail (and Mocktail) Competition, splitting the group into teams to build the best drink for bragging rights, followed by a Dance Party built entirely from a playlist the group submits ahead of time.

Sunday morning, we head out bright and early, grab-and-go breakfast in hand, for Eden Gardens State Park to walk a mile of trails and tour the historic Wesley House at your own pace. We're back at the house by late morning with the rest of the day free, massages available if you want one, before Game Night that evening, featuring Guesstures and our own retreat-themed spin on Family Feud: Retreat Feud.

We'll close out our time together on the final evening with a sunset beach picnic and bonfire, complete with a closing circle, s'mores, and one last magical moment together before you head home.

Yoga & Meditation

Most days include an easy stretch and a few quiet minutes to breathe. No mat experience required, and zero pressure to look like you know what you're doing. Some sessions happen right on the beach, others poolside, all led at a pace that's more "take a deep breath" than "perfect your alignment."

Think of it as the low-key bookend to whatever silliness happened the night before, a gentle way to ease into the day before brunch, bikes, and whatever's next on the agenda.

Provided Meals

You'll be well-fed all weekend by our private chef, Jess Ragland, who brings serious Florida coastal flavor to every dish, think fresh seafood, bright citrus, and light, beachy fare that tastes like vacation.

Since most of our guests would rather sleep in than set an alarm, we run on brunch instead of a traditional breakfast, paired with an afternoon snack and a full dinner each night, plus two glasses of wine with dinner for those who'd like one. Coffee, herbal teas, and infused water are available all day to keep you fueled between naps.

And yes, Jess is also the mastermind behind our Cocktail (and Mocktail) Competition night, so consider this fair warning that the food is going to be a whole event on its own.
